A beautifully soft velvet cushion cover in the design 'KRISTIANSAND which is an exciting, colourful textile inspired by thin section imagery. The thin section was created by technician Iona Copely of the University of Aberdeen by filing the sample down to a very thin slice - this allowed us to investigate the optical properties of the sample through cross polarised light. I think thin section imagery is absolutely outstanding and after the success of my Granite thin section design, I’m very excited to have worked with this type of scientific imagery again.
The cover measures 45x45cm and has a concealed zip closure, hand finished to the highest standard. There is a small branded Agate & Ayre label sewn into the bottom left corner. The optional cushion inner is premium vegan filling and has been made in the UK.
The printed panel is soft velvet which has been printed using zero water waste digitally printed methods in the UK. It is complimented by a plush plain velvet in burnt orange for the back, sourced from a small UK manufacturer.
This cushion cover has been handmade in my studio in Glasgow. It is available in a range of prints and colours which you can find on my online store.
